Meet Dr Ravi Naran

Dr Ravi Naran is one of our valued GPs, bringing a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for patient care. He completed his medical degree at the University of Newcastle, Australia, before gaining valuable frontline experience at North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Originally drawn to emergency medicine, his early rotations in plastic surgery ignited a passion for procedural, hands-on care - an interest that has continued to shape his career ever since. After returning home to New Zealand, he worked as an Emergency Registrar across Auckland's busy hospitals, developing a strong foundation in acute clinical care before making the transition into General Practice.

In General Practice, Dr Ravi found the ideal blend of long-term patient relationships, clinical decision-making, and procedural medicine. He has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine - a field of growing importance here in New Zealand, where we have some of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Dr Ravi has undertaken extensive additional training in skin cancer diagnostics and dermoscopy, and is currently completing the General Practice Fellowship Certificate of Advanced Dermatoscopy. He is also an Associate Member of the New Zealand Skin Cancer Doctors (NZSCD) group, with plans to pursue further advanced training in skin cancer surgery in the coming years.

Having grown up in East Auckland and attended Macleans College, Dr Ravi is proud to serve the community he calls home. He is committed to building genuine, long-term relationships with his patients and providing care that is both thorough and approachable. Whether you are coming in for a routine consultation, a skin check, or ongoing care, you can expect to be seen by a doctor who listens, takes his time, and puts your health first.

Outside of medicine, Dr Ravi is a keen sports enthusiast who enjoys both playing and following a wide range of sports. He also cherishes time with his young family. If you have not yet had the chance to see Dr Ravi, we encourage you to book an appointment - we are sure you will be in great hands.
